These resource are being made free to the public online in December, 2023. Some information may be outdated. Many of these resources were developed with our specific sites, programs, and procedures in mind, and though we have adapted many to be more widely applicable, you may need to continue adapting them to be most useful for your work.

You may email info@gogvi.org with questions, but please note that our team may be slow to respond - please be patient and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

You do NOT have to ask us for permission to adapt or use Green Village Initiative (GVI) resources, but please consider citing GVI to honor the legacy of our farmers! If a resource is from one of our partners, please do your best to reach out to request permission before you adapt and cite their work.

Lessons

School Garden Toolshed:

The school garden toolshed was created through a collaboration between GVI, Food Corps. and Sacred Heart University. Lesson plans were written or curated from various organizations and aligned with Bridgeport School district's curriculum. Lesson plans are organized by grade level and season as well as through 4 overarching themes: Nutrition, Garden, Food Access and Food Ecology.

We have purchased all books needed for teachers to use the School Garden Lesson Plans. If you would like to borrow one of our books to fulfill a lesson plan, please send an email to info@gogvi,org. Please let us know what school you represent, the Book Title and Author you are interested in, and your contact info.
