GVI Reservoir Community Farm
Reservoir Community Farm is a 1.7 acre educational farm right in the heart of Bridgeport.
Historically, this land was cared for under the stewardship of the Golden Hill Paugussett Tribe.
We recognize and honor the tradition, heritage, and legacy embedded in their relationship with this place. We are committed to sharing the history and the legacy of the Paugussett, and honoring our community’s relationship with it in the most meaningful way possible.

With over 47 raised beds and plots, a variety of clean and healthy food is grown for families of Bridgeport by community gardeners and urban farmers. GVI and our amazing community have grown and sold thousands of pounds of organically grown, culturally appropriate and affordable fresh produce each year for on this land. Depending on the season, collard greens, tomato, callaloo, zucchini, and hot peppers are some of the most popular vegetables.
This 2024 we had a very interesting and strong demand for the honey produced on site by our resident bees, and managed by our partners from the Huneebee Project. We also grew turmeric for the first time in 2024, and it sold out within a few hours of it being introduced to the market stand.
Reservoir Community Farm also serves as a setting for educational school field trips, the site for our Youth Leadership Program, and a knowledge resource hub for Bridgeport’s community garden network. We had almost 100 Bridgeport students visit the farm on fieldtrips in 2025 and hope to receive up to 10 fieldtrips in 2026.
