Grow With Us. Lead With Purpose
Every voice on our board shapes the future of urban agriculture and food justice in Bridgeport — from the governance decisions that keep GVI strong to the community relationships that make our work possible.
Become Part of What Grows Here
GVI's Board of Directors is a group of committed individuals who believe that access to fresh, locally grown food is a right, not a privilege. Board members provide mission-based leadership, organizational oversight, and active support for GVI's programs and people — volunteering their time, skills, and networks in service of Bridgeport.
If you are ready to put your skills and passion to work for Bridgeport, we want to hear from you.

What Our Board Does
Board members provide governance in accordance with GVI's bylaws and obligations as a Connecticut 501(c)(3) nonprofit, offering mission-based leadership grounded in food justice, equity, and community empowerment.
They oversee organizational performance against strategic plan goals, ensure financial stewardship through budget and audit review, and contribute to GVI's sustainability through personal giving, fundraising, and volunteerism.
Board members are expected to participate actively in meetings, committees, and key events, and to advocate for GVI's mission within their professional and personal networks.
Volunteer Board Treasurer
GVI is looking for a finance-minded professional to serve as Treasurer on our Board of Directors. This is a light but meaningful commitment -- a few hours a month -- supporting a small, community-rooted nonprofit doing real work in Bridgeport. If you have a background in accounting, finance, or business and want to put those skills toward food justice, we'd love to hear from you.
